For the second year, squares were sent from around the globe to be included on Castlebay Christmas Tree II. It is nice to bring people together on this project in this time of isolation and uncertainty.
Many people crocheted and knitted the 400 squares, all were very colourful, some patterned, some with bells that will jangle in the gentle breeze or (more likely) gale force winds. Each and every one is wonderful and we certainly enjoyed receiving them. It is lovely to see all the squares together and they certainly brighten up Christmas for us all.
Many thanks too to the volunteers who constructed, sewed and planted the 2 trees, 2019 and 2020.
We are also very grateful to Western Isles Lifestyle Lottery who funded the construction materials and the lights.
More information about squares as they came in are on the @BarraBunting facebook page.
